Even if this is true, that doesn't mean any gender or minority issues are sorted. Just means we are less bad than in the past.

That said, IIRC female participation in computer science and engineering still way below 1980 rates.

Yes and while there's variability (as you note in computer sci & engineering) numbers are improved in junior roles. Not much in other ranks
