its hard not to take your tweets personally given the work I've put in on marches across the world.
-
inclusive marches. Ones in towns that have never had a diversity statement for a march before. But the withering criticism
-
isnt worth it. the hate mail, the hate tweets - all while putting in untold hours to build something the community wanted
-
Sorry, it seems you're saying that hate mail & unpaid work of volunteering not worth building inclusive community?
@sciencequiche#marginsci -
combine that with the comments from other scientists - telling us not to build this. Maybe its time to listen.
-
The message has not been "don't build this." The message has been, make this event inclusive & honour intersectionality.
@sciencequiche -
But we were slowly making progress. The feedback I've gotten on twitter and elsewhere is that isn't fast enough.
-
Correct - intersectionality has been handled poorly and too slowly
