Dr Zuleyka Zevallos Retweeted March for Science

Dr Zuleyka Zevallos added,
.@ScienceMarchDC In fact, in every diversity conversation you start - you are absent. #marginsci
this is such a perceptive point. It's all been reaction, scrambling to repair damage.
Exactly - damage control mode rather than stopping to reflect and bring the right people to help them plan. :/
it doesn't excuse the repeat errors, but I suspect they are overwhelmed by the volume of communication they are getting.
Nope, don't do that. URMs have said "hey we'll help" & been pushed away. This isn't just organizational chaos
I agree with you, I'm not minimizing the original issues, simply noting that they're probably also in over heads.
That's why they need to bring in the experts. :) They should have acted sooner, that's the problem. There's hope yet!
I get the feeling they are reluctant to bring in experts for fear of losing control/credit for march :-/
That's the low value placed on E&D by organisers who want diversity but don't bother w/ experts. #marginsci
