7/ Then there's my own #sociology blogging. It's Tuesday. Here's the demands already received this week from sociologists. #socmoderation

8/ "I'm an academic. I've written a book and used your work. My publisher wants your permission." What book? What quote? #socmoderation

9/ "I'm an academic. I tell my students about your blog! I'm White but an ally! What's that video about that Black woman?" #socmoderation

10/ "I'm a White cisgender male. I've written you 1,000 essay about transgender people. Tell me what you think of my ideas!" #socmoderation

11/ Then there's my moderation for an equity & diversity group. "I'm angry my ideas about racism aren't ok. I'm DMing you!" #socmoderation

12/ "You've told us over and over what intersectionality is but it hurts our feelings as White people. Explain it again!" #socmoderation

13/ I blog not for people in dominant groups. I blog not for academics who don't respect my knowledge, career & extra labour. #socmoderation

14/ I blog for myself & for people like me: #WOC; people who are othered; people who want to overcome discrimination. #socmoderation

15/ I could ignore the abuse & demands but that doesn't change anything. I want colleagues to know that it's high cost work. #socmoderation

16/ Those who blog owe nothing, whether academics or applied researchers. Academia is built on exploitation. Be kind instead #socmoderation
