@The_Episiarch Alters their hormones and thus development but affects males more. Do altered genes (small legs/antena) affect offspring?

@OtherSociology no, the changes aren't heritable. The parasite only affects the development (& maybe gene expression) of the host it is -
@OtherSociology infecting but those changes aren't passed onto offspring (wld only apply to female mantis anyway as the males get castrated) -
