@OtherSociology@davidimiller@curtrice@usnews This is true, but does such homogenisation lose the experience of individual narrative. -
@AlresfordBear@OtherSociology@curtrice@usnews Intersectional race/gender data mostly show small bias against women in STEM -
@davidimiller Does it distinguish bt showing a small bias and a countered bias? -
@curtrice Small pro-M bias for White F/M. Pro-F bias for Black F/M. And (mostly) pro-F bias for Hisp/Chinese/Indian F/M (some exceptions). -
@davidimiller Sorry, I meant bias of the implicit type. -
@curtrice Ah. And do you mean implicit stereotypes (the beliefs) or implicit discriminatory bias (subtle actions)? -
@davidimiller so, the beliefs might be there but the actions are in som setting countered. -
@curtrice Ah! Yes, yes, yes. The beliefs/stereotypes are quite robust. I've studied this issue myself http://d-miller.github.io/assets/MillerEaglyLinn2015.pdf … - 3 more replies
