Right on. Aside from Muslim-Australians talking about the haj, we don't often use this phrase in Australia. When might we hear it? In American pop culture, which has a fraught meaning to Native Americans. So it's actually doubly disrespectful to First Nations people here & there

Also 'pilgrim' has religious connotations. Its use here alludes to climbing Uluru being sacred to non-Aboriginal people, which is simply rubbish. Awful editorial decision reflecting a bunch of awful people being wilfully belligerent towards Anangu traditional owners.
