This is a really bad take. 1. A job is something you get paid for. We aren't making money off our time on here. 2. If you post your experiences or science constantly having to justify them to a bunch of people who know very little about the topic is exhausting.https://twitter.com/Richie_Research/status/1156886103913316352 …

He's a Quillette sycophant. He's shown up on my threads with exactly this attitude when a racist & transphobic White woman attacked me for a research critique (not even her work). His argument was that I should just engage with trolls and that I was "derailing" by not "debating"

I look at it this way: You may be more convincing if you provide your evidence. But you certainly are under no obligation to provide evidence, to be convincing, or anything else. There are only so many hours in a day. If someone is just being dense, you have better things to do.

What's the research that evidence convinces people in such discussions? I've seen research that says the opposite.

I don't mean to imply you need to provide me evidence of your position either way. LMAO this is becoming fractal.

That's okay, I saw your meaning! But I just happened to have something up my sleeve.
Scientists often refuse to see their own cognitive biases about what motivates them. Wish reflexivity was taught across all sciences, at every level.
