Paper went through major revisions & still went to publication in less than 6 months? That's highly motivated peer reviewing & editing. Yet still, this was the best version? A paper that clearly hasn't consulted original texts & rests on personal attacks of Black women? Awful!

Time from initial submission to acceptance varies a lot from journal to journal. According to SciRev, the "total handling" time for ERS is pretty quick (avg 3.4 months). If reviewers are prompt and the author prioritizes revisions, 6 months is not outlandish even for maj.rev.
