White people see their stories as representing everybody. They're not used to consuming Black people's books & stories. Books by Black women have much to give the world. 2/2

White women's tears: before you start crying, ask yourself if you were being racist, and think about how you can do better and rectify the situation. If you still need to cry, go home and cry it out alone, because your tears are harmful, & can get Black people killed. - Dr Cooper

Misogynoir: White women see their freedom project being the same as White men. Black men don't share race privilege with White men but they have gender privilege - they see White men as the freedom they aspire to. Black women struggle against both & economic inequity. - Dr Cooper

Any place where where you have too many White people (like right now, at the #SydneyFilmFestival) you have a racism problem. - Dr Cooper

When people have seen a lot of violence thet don't play around with ideas of revolutionary violence (masculinist violence). Is building from rubble the only way to start over or can we find another way? What does it look like if we build our revolution w/o violence? - Dr Cooper

On solidarity with LGBTQIA people & Caster Semenya: Black women have always been told they're not attractive, not feminine enough, and therefore not worthy of dignity, protection & grace. We shouldn't stand for this and White women need to accept & address their role. -Dr Cooper

Think about all the hours Black women shave in thinking about and mediating stereotypes, and the emotional labour this wastes. When we deny people their anger, when they are denied their dignity, we deny their humanity. -Dr Cooper
