Agree. And the physical toll of pregnancy and childbirth, as well. Whew. I get that their goal was to get people discussing, but as someone living the question of timing? Having a kid never seemed plausible to me until parental leave was an option.

Yeah, and like... Personally, my decisions re parenthood are also heavily influenced by whether I can afford to get pregnant? Like it's not exactly going to happen as a matter of course, no one in my household makes sperm. So when can I afford not only birth but also conception?

Plus god help you if you're on the job market--women who have kids are perceived as having WAY less focus and attention for careers than men regardless of who the primary parent is. Know a LOT of women who carefully arranged not to be visibly pregnant until job safely in hand.
