        Adoption laws harm marginalised Aboriginal families. Labor put in 29 amendments to safeguard legislation on forced adoption, all rejected by the Government.         No draft exposure bill. Supposed consultation papers only released 2 days before forced adoption legislation introduced - just after Sorry Day. No proper debate in Parliament. This is poor legislation it needs to be reversed. -Tanya Mihalik  Sorry means you don't do it again.

        Structural poverty means families can't get their kids back in 2 years before they're put into forced adoption. 40% kids in out of home care are Aboriginal Since Bringing Them Home report into Stolen Generations in 1997, Aboriginal kids are removed at 5X rate. -David Shoebridge

        11 years ago, Kevin Rudd delivered national apology to Aboriginal people for forced removals. Today, Aboriginal kids in NSW, biggest proportion of Aboriginal children of other states, removals happen at double the rate. Politicians say sorry, but it's still happening. Shoebridge
