The reenactors I have known (mostly SCA-types, reimagining how medieval times could have been) are concerned with understanding history at a deeper, often hands-on level. I was told US Civil War reenactors usually have costume kits for both sides. Emperial colonialism, though?

Acting out invasion isn't about understanding history. We are heading into Australia Day, which has always been contested by Indigenous people & increasingly other Australians. Prime Minister is being willfully offensive here, having just announced $6.7M statue to colonisation
