Prime example of how White women perpetuate white supremacy: they think they can tell Black women on the front lines of racism when & how to take action Opting in & out of anti-racism work (& it is *work* on self & institutions) is NOT 'fighting racism.' https://twitter.com/Meshel_Laurie/status/1081122077984210944?s=19 …

I like how her unique insight she brought to the table was being in the meetings with people who wanted racist narratives...

What about her saying she was 'fighting racism' by going on a TV show? How many times has Nyadol Nyuon done the same but not once asked for a cookie? Who's qualified to speak on this? Who speaks on TV & still attends rallies? Who pays the MUCH higher price? Awful rationale.

Lol fighting it by keeping that TV show primarily white.

Australian audiences cannot learn what racism is - and how to do nothing about it - unless poorly informed White women whitewash it for them.

Hey maybe she can teach them how to consume our culture without having to deal with us as people!
-
Well she tells an expert Black woman that racism is scary for her, a White woman, so maybe you're onto something?
The bar is so low that White people who think ignoring Nazis is a good way to end racism, are the people who contribute to public debates. - 1 more reply
