Too many White women expect #WOC to be courageous, to stand up for them, to listen to them. They know they can count on us to do the right thing. They fail to back us up, even when the stakes are low, yet swoop in for credit when we've done the heavy lifting.
This is exhausting.

Very true. Dismissing her when she expressly said she was standing up for women's rights. Because for WW women's rights is defined through a prism of White women's needs and aspirations to be more like White men, rather than to fight for what all women and femmes need.

I cannot get behind White women who use this as a talking point, but will not actually support WOC who are harassed, or WOC who speak up on harassment. Wanting kudos for using a hashtag invented by a Black woman but disinterested in Black women's rights. Nope to infinity.

And WW who make spaces unsafe for WoC to speak up against harassment! Safe spaces for WoC was the WHOLE reason for Burke's work and creation of Me Too. They can Me Too to promote themselves and then tell Serena "No, not you too" without batting their eyelashes. Disgusting!
