Looking at urban design to better understanding people's behaviour, and changing perceptual and technological cues of hazards is a better way of managing 'distracted walking.' We plan for, and change, the architecture for drivers, why not pedestrians?

Finally, and returning to the moralistic dimension, people who watch their phones shouldn't be dismissed as 'zombies.' Technology is not always frivolous. (Then again, so what if it is?) For some, tech is a social connection that helps us get through the day for myriad reasons
