Our subway system has been having problems for years due to a combination of underfunding and poor management. It’s pretty much a crap shoot as to whether it will get you where you need to go on time.

I keep comparing to Japan metro areas. Friends who've travelled there say everything always runs perfectly on time. Bliss! Our train system in Sydney is old and clearly something as mundane as a balloon can bring us to a halt.
