1/2 There are many academics and activists I saw amongst his followers. Lots of minorities and White women, a few mutuals. I think he pulls them in with his barrage of pro- human rights, Aboriginal rights, science and education tweets. Sandwiched in between are his hateful tweets

Could be true! He also has a 'soft' troll approach where he goads responses by saying something outlandish, and then sublimates, saying 'thank you for sharing your ideas' and 'I'll take this under advisement.' And then people thank him, as if he's done them a favour!

Too true! It's always 'just a joke' when really they are trying to get away with insulting or demoralising other groups.

2/2 I think some people don't keep a tight eye on who they follow (in fact research shows they don't unfollow in many cases) I like to do clean outs. Recently did this. It's a pain but good to sift out anyone sus
