What White people think is 'debate' or 'voicing opinions' is usually just the status quo on racism.
The fact that Indigenous & other #POC choose to share our experience & expertise is not an invitation to suck the oxygen, joy and critical thinking from POC-led conversations.
It's interesting that White people presume Indigenous and other #POC labour & spaces are for the benefit of their education/ ignorance/ aggression.
Society is centered around whiteness - that's a term describing that White culture is the unquestioned norm, invisible only to WP.
When Indigenous & other #POC share our voices here, on our blogs, our news stories, art & elsewhere - White people feel it's 'natural' that their perspective is needed. That we owe them time, explanation & comfort. That entitlement comes from Whiteness. It's an exercise of racism
