I like the idea of being explicit of how 'enough ' data are reached. For example, situating the researcher and participants, to the data.

I think we should be honest that often we probably don't have 'enough'. But we work under contraints and interpret findings accordingly.

From my PhD onward, I've managed projects were I undertook/ analysed 50 interviews to over 300. 'Enough' isn't necessarily a numbers game. What matters is how we define and interpret the richness. One person can provide deeper insight than the other 49.

Don't know about qual psych but I'd suggest in sociology saturation in small no. is impossible if we are to address intersectionality.
