@YTCreators @YouTube Why are my videos monetized properly when unlisted but suddenly get demonetized the instant I publish them? I upload unlisted videos specifically to avoid these issues before going public.

This can happen b/c the automated system continues to analyze new info from the video once it’s published – agree it’s not a great experience though. The engineering team is working to improve this, so if you have any example videos where this happened, we can pass them along!

To clarify, you’re saying it scans for different things when it’s published than when it’s unlisted? I try to use the unlisted status to resolve these issues before I publish.

Yes, the automated system scans your video multiple times before it’s live & continues to analyze new info once it’s published. It is also true that uploading it as unlisted helps bc it allows you to get an early read on the status, so we recommend continuing that practice.

I certainly wish it would scan for the same things while unlisted that it does published. Today’s incident happened to a video that was unlisted and unaltered for several days and only got flagged just minutes after publishing.

The system is constantly learning and improving, so please continue to appeal if you think it’s a mistake: https://yt.be/help/NW2d

Specifically, what things are being scanned? Sometimes I'll upload videos with the title "A" and no tags and it still gets automatically demonetized. I'm fairly certain the system is just demonetizing my videos by default or on trend. Could you clarify this?

Videos without a title or metadata likely don’t give our systems enough context to confirm it should be fully monetizing, so you’ll likely see yellow icons instead – you can update the video w/ more info and the system should review it automatically. Hope this helps clarify!

I’ve never seen a video go green without a manual review. Also, literally every video I upload is getting demonetized after I publish them. Is it possible I’ve been blacklisted or something? My most innocent vids are flagged. Why this one?https://youtu.be/EAfaeZ-1nss

Every few months, YouTube would make updates to improve accuracy. When this happens, some previously green icons turn to yellow. The system is constantly learning and progressing, so please continue to appeal if you think it’s a mistake: https://yt.be/help/NW2d

That didn’t really address the question. I’m asking if YT’s system will target entire channels and automatically demonetize them regardless of video content or tags?
