I love YouTube and when the notification system was first introduced I was told it was a chance for subs to see "every video you upload" I supported or then. But why break this system too? Why let it be only a "if we think the video is good enough" system as well?

Just to clarify, if someone taps the bell > all notifications, then they do get a notification for every video upload! It's only the "occasional" notification setting that sends just some. Also, no matter your notification settings, all new uploads still show in the subs feed!

it shouldn't be like that tho, it's not spam it's an actual person saying that they want to see the content, this is why a lot of channels are suffering because someone at the top thinks that they should be notified 'Occasionally' but the sub feed is also broken to

The bell provides more options though! Someone might not want to get notified about every upload from every single subscription (especially if they have a lot of them). The bell gives channel-level options: receive none, occasional, or all notifications.

I kind of wish there was a playlist-level notification either handled by the user or by AI (maybe there already is?). I upload a variety of content, and I know most subscribers won't want to see it all. I'd hope they'd still get notified on the videos they subscribed for though.

Unfortunately, it's difficult to understand what is, and what isn't, deemed as important for a viewer, when the algorithm is at work. I think the playlist idea would be interesting, but engaging fans to click more buttons than they do now seems troublesome.
