    Another physician friend of mine committed suicide. I’m not saying you shouldn’t sue physicians - but whenever you do, please realize that the physician committing suicide is a possible outcome.

    It’s interesting I was thinking about how busy the hospital is today. We’re just wondering around trying to get through the day. The patients and their families may be experiencing the scariest or saddest or most joyous day of their lives. Good perspective!

    Displaced pediatric lateral condyle fractures should be treated surgically to avoid nonunion. Nonunion has been associated with cubitus valgus, pain, loss of motion, and tardy ulnar nerve palsy. The ulnar nerve palsy develops due to stretching from cubitus valgus deformity.

    Follow up: After lengthy discussion with the patient, we elected for HWR/IMN. Non-displaced butterfly fragment medially that propagated while taking a buried flat-head screw out. Used fibular alignment to assist with reduction/length. Ankle stress test negative.

    Atlantoaxial rotatory subluxation can occur after upper respiratory infection & is felt to be caused by adjacent inflammation of soft tissues in the neck. If subluxation persists after 1 week of rest, the patient should be transitioned to halter traction.
