PAW PATROL: Officer Plaza responded to a vacant residence where the homeowner had recently passed away. In the home was a small dog named "Trigger". Trigger was unfortunately left behind with no one to care for him so Officer Plaza took him to to get adopted.

OPD will conduct High Visibility Enforcement Details (HVE) through May 2023 to increase awareness of traffic laws. Enforcement efforts will focus primarily on education. However, violations may result in warnings or citations.

Officer Gruler & Officer Marrero were #OnTheBeat conducting residential & business checks in the Parramore neighborhood when they came across a suspicious vehicle. The investigation led to a recovery of drugs, a knife & a loaded firearm in the possession of a convicted felon.

There is currently one eastbound lane of East Michigan Street closed from S Conway Road due to a single-vehicle crash. OUC is on the scene due to having to replace a utility pole. The road closure may take several hours. Updates to follow.

Chief Smith joined & community members to raise awareness on human trafficking prevention through The Red Sand Project, a nationwide movement where the red sand is put into the cracks of the sidewalk to signify the victims who have fallen through the cracks.

TAC Officer of the Quarter goes to Sgt Alex Kipp & Corporal Ashley Lamb! They have been part of the unit since it was reinstated back in August. Their leadership & tenacity has led to the seizure of over 30 crimes guns in a 3-month period just between the 2 of them. Congrats!
