and some more helpful context--which is critical of Schumer but explains some of the language used.https://twitter.com/mjs_DC/status/1235325540350992390 …

A few thoughts: 1. Schumer was quoting Kavanaugh's confirmation statement. 2. Schumer's remarks went too far, and Roberts' condemnation is appropriate. 3. Roberts said nothing when Trump attacked RBG and Sotomayor last week. https://twitter.com/GregStohr/status/1235323547909791752 … pic.twitter.com/71Onj0PXTU

#1 Seems to have been lost to most everyone and that is a shame. Thank you for calling attention to this. Demonstrates a partisan sentiment, don't you think? : )

As have McConnell and a majority of Republicans. Many times over.

Roberts did not specifically mention Trump’s name however in your example. Here he specially references Schumer. Probably splitting hairs I know, but it is a difference.

Not at all splitting hairs. GOP has turned this into a political court and Roberts is just proving Chuck’s point.

Such a difference in tone between those two statements. He mentions Schumer by name and attacks him. He doesn't mention the President directly and only obliquely takes on the issue. A world of difference.

Schumer is correct. The rage will be formidable.

This notion on the right that the courts should be beyond political blowback for their decisions is simply astounding
