There’s been no outreach by the President or federal officials, and I have no intention of allowing Oregon’s guard troops to be used to distract from his troubles in Washington.

If @realDonaldTrump asks me to deploy Oregon Guard troops to the Mexico border, I’ll say no. As Commander of Oregon’s Guard, I’m deeply troubled by Trump’s plan to militarize our border.

Federal law was changed in section 1076 so that the Governor of a state is no longer the sole commander in chief of their state's National Guard during emergencies within the state

I guess you are in favor of a military response to a fabricated threat made up by Fox News. I prefer my military responses to be for real threats assessed by intelligence from our homeland security office(by a secretary not worried about being ridiculed and fired) but that’s me.
