We must work together to deescalate the potential for confrontation, by continuing to foster community conversations and utilizing trained law enforcement officers to keep the peace and protect free speech, not soldiers.

What part of "no justice, no peace" is unclear to you?
-
Right! All of these criminals rioting in the streets need to be prosecuted and spend time in prison. Then we would have peace.

So are the police going to be held accountable for the acts of violence they have committed?

So are you going to send the state troopers to arrest the Portland Police officers who have been beating protesters unconscious or while on the ground, pepper spraying the in the face unnecessarily or using tear gas at the slightest provocation? This is a serious question!
-
How about arresting the people who are burning buildings and beating on people . Dr King protested peacefully and he got results.

Call off the PPD, and prosecute them for their violent crimes, and for partnering with extremist right wing hate groups. If they don't stop engaging in violence against citizens, call the National Guard to come protect us. End the rampant police violence against Portlanders now.
-
Call off the PPD?The violent vandals have been taking themselves to the PPD, every night for three months, the PPD aren't seeking them out. When Feds were protecting the Fed Courthouse protestors claimed if the Feds left the violence would stop. The Feds left & yet violence goes on.
