Game industry friends - How did you get into the field?
I went to the very first BlizzCon to find out how I could turn my (unfinished) software engineer degree into a career.
Their QA department needed a tools team which used a language I knew as a hobby and I signed up!
The rest was basically history at this point.

I learned in the real job that I didn't want to do software engineering for a full time job and got into Design. My hobby couldn't have possibly taught me that for free.
