I'm fairly introverted. I like being around people so over the years I've been trying harder to be more social, but I can't stand small talk. I'd rather say nothing at all and listen than say something seemingly nonsensical. There's one thing I just can't seem to understand...
And that's why people enjoy telling the same stories repeatedly? Every time it seems like they think they are telling it for the first time & it boggles my mind. It's usually because someone new will show up & everyone else just pretends like it's their first time hearing it.
In my case, I know I'm boring, so I let others talk so people don't catch on. When I do actually try to tell a story, I more often get interrupted by other people before I get to finish telling it, so it's not much inducement to try.
This is like 8 times in an hour. And I see it all the time. lol
