Anyone have any HOA experiences? Good or bad? I'm just opposed to them on the idea that I don't want to pay someone to tell me what I'm allowed to do with my own property but do realize there are benefits too.
I have an HOA and I feel they aren't worth it. It has amenities I never use. Which was why I hated expensive apartments in southern California (and here I am living there again) If you have the choice, avoid it. It's going to get harder and harder to make that choice though.
For context my HOA is for my house in Atlanta. I'm again working in Southern California and renting an apartment that has 4 pools and a security detail I never use/see benefit of having.
