This is a blatant lie. Prior authorization means that @OptumRx is trying to maximize their profit by maximizing their rebate from brand manufacturer. Hopefully if @realDonaldTrump overturns Safe Harbor Protection for those PBM coveted rebates, MDs can return to bring doctors.

Have a plan where that silly $4k narcan got thru the “pa” system so patient go and Plan was charged and all the middlemen (including pbm) made $. What a farce

So if I am referred to Endocrinologist that recommends Jardiance based upon my comorbid conditions of diabetes and heart disease, but
@OptumRx prefers Invokana that does not have the supporting clinical data as Jardiance, you would make MD obtain PA to obtain the better Rx?Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

So if my doctor prescribed generic Adderall XR, but
@OptumRx made me pay for the brand name even though I have a high deductible plan. I would have to get a PA to get cheaper generic drug approved. Sounds and smells like a rebate. -
And you probably won’t get that PA anyway. Can’t get one for Medicaid in my state

You almost never get your medication when you need a prior authorization
