Not arguing, just sharing information. Can you please explain what association/role one must have to "have strong ties" to an association? For example, many on the OSI Board are members of, and contributors to, the organizations you've identified as "the top 5".

Let me offer a very simple argument (that actually started this thread). As a highly active member of
@TheASF I no longer feel that I have adequate representation@OpenSourceOrg. I don't even say that OSI should care, just sharing my observation. Maybe... -
Ah. As mentioned on another sub-thread, Apache is no longer an Affiliate Member, and thus they cannot nominate candidates for the Board. The only way for someone w/ASF affiliation to be elected now would be as an Individual Member. ASF was a member, and we have invited them back.
