Trigger>go to sensation level>watch compulsion to spin a narrative>back to sensation>ask ‘is this disturbing sensation going to kill me?’
This is a crucial practice. Knowing your triggers & learning to notice when they are just barely beginning to fire is a big part of the meaning of mindfulness of emotion. Actual trigger practice is a good way to improve your skill at not freaking out (as much).
