They don’t dislike you. They dislike their projections. Meditation instruction is a dangerous social game.

I find it interesting to watch the ebb and flow of a student’s attitude towards me. Not to say if a student projects shadow material I don’t feel initially triggered.
-
If at some point(s) they don’t really dislike you, you’re doing it wrong.
-
Do you have any writings on metabolizing the dislike and maintaining wakefulness? Seems an underserved topic for instructors. Would love to work on this
-
No, but it’s a good idea for a subject to write about. The basic idea is that it’s a form of trigger practice.
-
Or to podcast about! It’s a hugely useful and under developed subject to explore. I often faced a similar challenge in the practice of law, and lawyers definitely don’t have any tools to manage the transferance.
-
I’m hoping to get some blog posters from you for DY in 2018, Erik. Might be a fascinating topic.

Sounds good. I’m down!

I’m universally loved by dogs. The feeling is very mutual.

A good sign. People whom animals love rank high on my "good person-o-meter". Sadly, I had some bad experiences with dogs as a child (doberman pinschers, packs of semi feral dogs), so I'm not 100% at ease with them.
