Perhaps someone could tell me what US national interests are harmed by the US President being on good terms with the Russian leader?

ok, what has he done because of Putin's influence that was against America's interests? I can think of some intelligence sharing. Other?
-
Got elected. And all the carnage since. He would not have gotten elected without Putin’s influence.
-
Possibly. But at the current time, good relations with Russia are one of the only good things about his administration. It might be worth, at some point, examing /why/ Russia interfered in America's election. It isn't because Russia is "evil, evil, evil".
-
I definitely happy to not be at war with Russia over Ukraine, or something. On the other hand, election interference and subsequent mayhem cannot be tolerated.
-
Now, apply that to America's interference in many elections including Russia's. Why can't it be tolerated? Every other country has to tolerate America's interference in our elections (yes, Canada has suffered your intereference too.) Why are you special?
-
no, you cannot keep hitting other people and then say "two wrongs don't make a right" when they hit back.
