Know when to let go of the raft. Let go of the raft as often as you can in your quest for liberation.

A lot of folks seem to feel that the raft allows them to signal their virtue and righteousness. (Even the Rohingya atrocity hasn’t changed that.) And that’s a lot of social clout to let go of.

The problem for monks and certain Buddhist teachers in the West is that they have made the Dharma their full time job, so now they’re dependent on it to survive, so they can’t let go
