Although the behaviour described in the thread applies perfectly equally to the social justice, identitarian left. In these times, presenting this as some feature unique to one side (rather than as part of extremism generally) does not strike me as a great example of wisdom.

The fascists have weaponized this technique to a much higher level currently. One of the main methods is the false equivalence: ie “both sides are just as bad.”

I am more concerned with these techniques from the left. The alt-right are generally small and socially ostracized. The radical left has considerable influence in academia, media and entertainment. The alt-right mostly exists in pockets online, and is not a majority.
