"The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying, written by Sogyal Rinpoche, who retired last year amid allegations of misconduct, is one of the most influential Buddhist books in the West. " - LionsRoar Interesting. There is a Alan Wallace translation called 'Natural Liberation'

two very different books. Wallace translates sections of the Bardo-thodrol along w/ Gyatrul Rinpoche's commentary; this is an advanced text. Sogyal's book is a general intro to vajrayana and includes a section covering the process of death/rebirth.

Yes. Very different. And I understand that Sogyal's text was ghost written by Andrew Harvey and others.
