Especially since it would have cost him nothing to reach out to his supporters and calm them down, & enjoin them to shun violence & killings

The issue, for me, is that he felt comfortable letting people get killed because of his personal ambition. That doesn't sit well with me.

I mean, forget the school of thought that says he may have instigated it with his pre-election comments. How does one do that?

Plus, for the APC - is this about changing Nigeria, or just capturing power? Because I don't understand again.

So, they couldn't do better than Buhari? There are no other hands in the APC that can be brought in to work?

Even if, admittedly, he has the machinery to pull 10 million votes from the North; no ways to put this to use for some other candidate?

Believe it or not, Buhari belongs to the same generation of Nigerians that have messed up, directly or indirectly. Believe it or not.

I should be one of the people screaming Buhari up and down now and making money from it and all, but I'm not convinced he's the best man.

Because, following the 2011 riots, Buhari actually had the chance, even if slim, to stop the killing of innocents, and he did nothing.

@gboukzi @udezekene I hope you realize he spoke up BEFORE the president. Asking to "calm" people he did not ask to kill is "rich" too.

@gboukzi @udezekene I concede that a younger person with his support would have been better. But the person has to step up first. No?

@OoTheNigerian Absolutely. But it's on APC as a 'progressive' party to present a younger candidate - a Fashola @gboukzi

@udezekene Fashola will most likely be the running mate. That's the best combo politically. I initially thought kwakwanso. @gboukzi

@OoTheNigerian True, but we do not have a pervasive culture of delegation and mentoring for leadership. Sadly. @gboukzi @udezekene
