My guess is that outdoor masking has not averted a single #COVID19 infection anywhere in the world.

This, to me, is the real question. Masks are the cheapest, easiest, safest intervention I think I've ever heard of, and have a great benefit in reducing risk. I think erring on the side of more masking was (and is) the right choice.

I wonder how neusurgeons view all this. They work as teams performing complex, risky, and lengthy brain surgeries - where communication is a matter of life and death - while wearing masks. Many of these surgeries are 12 hours long.
