It's really interesting how I repeatedly deal with content complaints the more precise and in-depth coverage gets, yet these people don't make a peep when others employ shady/unprofessional practices

What she said. Wowhead has been invaluable for me in all the years I've been playing WoW. I've never had an issue with the site. I've also witnessed first hand how much hard work goes into the content.
People need to whine less and give back more. If you don't like a site, don't frequent it. It's that simple. No need to exhibit your insecurities to the world. Think how awesome it would be if everyone worked together to make the community the best it can be.
