to anyone who has dealt with a dementia situation in a friend or family member, I know this is a weird question - but did you experience an uptick in them randomly and constantly contacting you for no real reason?

Yeah sometimes my grandma will call me multiple times in a single day just to check in. With her memory, she can't remember the last time she called, she just knows she wanted to talk with a loved one.
My mom will randomly email me at like 3am apologizing for something she never did (usually an email she never sent or something she never said). When I ask her about it she has no memory of it. That's the closest I have though.
