My surgeon says he has never seen anything like this in his career, or in any of the literature he’s reviewed. So the plan is … to do nothing and see if it gets better on its own.

Well the surgical treatment for this kind of thing (which is apparently mostly a birth defect in children) is to go in and chop off whatever brain is outside the skull which he feels is a little extreme. And it’s apparently not unusual for it to keep healing this far out.

Pain is pretty minor, but beyond that it’s an unknown. There is still some swelling which could be part of this, and that’s something that does/should eventually go away post surgery/radiation. But apparently continued healing is not strange at even at this point.
