This morning, I forced a pill down Tali's throat and offered him food. He refused. His feeder went untouched. I dropped the dogs off, and came home. While I sat down to work, he tried to get in his favorite spot in the cat tree but couldn't make the jump. I helped him up

I called my other vet, the one that treats Jaina. Let her know the situation. Had Tali's records sent over. Work was.. not easy to focus on. I knew the statistics. 4pm came around. Time for his appointment. The vet and I spoke over the phone about the prognosis given his age

A vet tech brought him in for an examination to verify heart failure. They asked if he'd been coughing. He hadn't for me, but he apparently did as they brought him in. I picked the dogs up, and dropped them off at home before returning to the vet

The vet called again at 4:45. We agreed Tali's quality of life mattered more. He wasn't responding to treatment and we didn't have many options to keep this in control. We also don't know how long we could have. They brought us into a room then. There were fake candles.
