But not what you are used to? (I had a teacher once who pronounced tuberculosis as toober-ka-losis. It was weird on the brain)

yep, always used the first one but I'm always down for learning the more widely accepted way to say something, especially for the sake of health stuff, haha!

Yeah it's useful to be able to associate pronunciation variants. Otherwise confusion ensues.
