So #AlekMinassian, the guy who killed ten people in #TorontoAttack was apparently a self declared #Incel, praising Elliot Rodgers on social media. I've been studying up on this strange world (inceldom) in the last few weeks.

It's a super-weird microcosm, that I bet is not at all on the radar of the vast majority of people over 25, but holy hell, something terrifying is happening there that society needs to come to take a look at.

The "Inceldom"-community has developed a strangely holistic world-view with their own norms, rules & language. It oscillates constantly between the pathetic and the terrifying.

What I find particularly striking is the defeatist attitude that those, who are "blackpilled" (you should look up what that means) attain. It feels in some ways like a secular version of religious martyrdom. But mainly shaped by a sense of radical, perverted Darwinism.

Horrifying indeed. Do you have a source where the creator "confesses" his inceldom?

I mean it looks and feels like something out of the late 90s that was made in the aftermath of Columbine. I guess the trenchcoat-mafia were in a way "First-Generation-Incels".

I see the parallels. It's all so weird and alarming.

I'd also credit the "Pick-Up" movement, which evolved somewhere in the mid-2000s for alot of the Incel-lingo and their views on female behaviour seem heavily influenced from that.
