  3. Most of the pioneering indies gave up, went b2b, or just took another (non VR) job. Working on VR if they can, on the left over hours. The VR community disbanded, no more VR meetups. The death of crowdfunding accelerated that trend. I am half now too.

  11. Ok so there is something: But of course no "ray tracing standard" to compare AMD & Nvidia (YET) AMD talks about "Mrays/s" and Nvidia GigaRays/s Looking forward to all the benchmarks, Since the Juggler (on Amiga), I have been looking forward to RT in RT!

  12. Another interesting aspect is what is going to happen if AMD Radeons GFX doesn't have a Ray Tracing implementation...? For years they've been fighting on performance, & their features where more optimizations than a new way to render in real time...

  13. 8K HDR at 60Hz.... That is the interesting part for It also means 4K for HMD is going to be the baseline/min resolution now, no doubt. (Good RGB 4K screens for VR) Looking forward to hear more about RT and performance.

  18. ...so laptop+Rift at 90fps... or VFocus at 35... (which is acceptable for my content, for many Game Design reasons) is very much a question. Another solution is to do both I guess... (6dof mobile cannot come soon enough!) It's not even that I already wish for ...

  19. ...now that I have a Vive Focus DK, (& not a Santa Cruz...) I am very much pondering about demoing on it: I create things for Rift/Vive but I optimize enough natively that it can run at 30-35fps on VFocus (which is btw VERY impressive as I run HDR, 4xAA, Fog, Bloom, AO & DOF!)...

  20. ... I dread traveling again with a Rift+Laptop setup. Always annoying during flight security check, (relatively heavy) & setting up the cameras in the hallways is complicated. (I have to grab chairs, lamp/speaker poles, power outlet & create my little safe room scale area...

  21. With Oculus Connect on the horizon: Every year at I demo in the hallways, it's a big part of the fun & connecting back with all my friends. My setup has been smaller every year, a custom "box shoe PC", then a Falcon Tiky (freaking heavy!) & now a Gtx1060 laptop. But...
