On my way to funeral of my cousin Andrew, young man and another avoidable loss of life, leaving a young daughter. Talk to someone, friend, family, organisation, helpline if you are having a tough time for whatever reason.

1795, would be lovely to see this print as part of Malton trail in the peace park opposite Christchurch and beside church ruins of St. Nicholas within

This old, ivy covered wall is all that now survives of the medieval nunnery at Kilcreevanty, Co Galway. Founded by king Cathal Crovderg O'Conor in c 1200, an inquisition taken in 1543 records that it possessed ‘a church & belfry, a dormitory, hall, three chambers, kitchen, etc..’

Re-animating the lost history of Dublin City. My restored 1900 photo of a bustling Sackville Street (now O'Connell St) featuring trams and Nelson Pillar which was severely damaged by explosives planted by Irish republicans in 1966.

February 1982, the banning of corporal punishment in schools in the Republic of Ireland. I remember receiving lashes for getting "the safe cross code" song slightly wrong in front of the class! Can still remember the sting & pain in my hands

St Brigit's day (Feb 1) coincides with imbolc, etymologised as 'ewe milk' (oímelc); traditionally today marked the beginning of spring in Ireland (and still does culturally) [A12 p30 (Sanas Cormaic) / Sanas Cormaic; my daffs showing spring spirit]
