I at first I thought Pauline in Super Mario Odyssey was Carmen Sandiego.

He's right. All of these nerds want to play with girls.

One of my favorite German words is Weltschmerz. Literally "world pain". The suffering from the world and yourself being inadequate compared to your idealized idea of it. I think there's a lot of this going around.

This is also why one should cultivate a good relationship between the developers/producers and the customers. Make sure they're working for YOU.

One of the most important lessons to teach people is that if something is free than you're not the customer, you're the product.

Contemplate the absurdity of calling someone who want to end the unnecessary cutting of baby's genitals "intactivists".

Nobody in their right mind would argue that toxic femininity is keeping men out of knitting. Who am I kidding, they'd blame that also on toxic masculinity.

Only a fraction of gamers get into e-sports. Don't expect gender parity on the far tail of a distribution.

I think the one reason why so many nerds despise virtue signaling is because it feels like lying. It's posturing. Perhaps virtue posturing is a better description.

Women wear the hijab because they “choose” to, but women in the West go on diets because they are “told” to. There’s nothing a progressive loves more than pretending to be helpless, while insisting everyone else is strong.

Because any human feels these things. Mentioning them does nothing for the victims. It's posturing. I don't need to tell you how I feel about it, because I don't regard my feelings as important. But in the current year, this is a faux pas in some circles.

I understand why some people may find me cold and unempathetic. When commenting on tragedy I tend not to preamble with how I feel horrible for the people involved. I see a lot of people doing that, and it strikes me as odd.

"Lack of women in professional gaming/esports!" Indeed, that's a thing. But pretending there would have been if some gamers hadn't been sexist when it was a dude all along and gamers had reason to suspect it was a dude is a disservice to every woman trying to get into that arena.

Overwatch pro quits after harassment over whether she was really playing:

So basically, a new girl player showed up in OW. Profile raised suspicions. People thought she might not really be the one playing. The usual social justice cretins clutched many pearls about horrid gamers not believing a woman can play vidja. Now: Suspicions confirmed.

Regarding Ellie: - Ellie has said in private messages to teammates in the last hour confirming she has not been the one playing, she is a 17-year old girl but is 'not good' at OW, no Second Wind players/mgmt knew - Blizzard is currently holding a meeting with SW players/mgmt

Calling Elizabeth Warren Pocahontas is certainly not nice, but stop pretending that it's a slur.
