@YouTube @TeamYouTube Not sure if you're aware of this, but your support team seems to be giving mixed information regarding memberships and its starting to frustrate a lot of gaming channel owners that have recently passed the 1k subscriber mark.

What are they saying?

Depending on who you talk to with the support team. Some will say that all channels must hit 30k for memberships, while others acknowledge that its 1k but still seem to give people the run around when asked about when the channel owner might expect the feature to be eligible.

I think the confusion lies with the fact that gamers are eligible at 1k (or at least were IF you hit that goal when “YouTube gaming” was a thing. Now that was shut down I am not 100% sure if gaming channels are still eligible at 1k or 30k. Generally 30k is the goal

Ya this has been a sticky situation since the beginning of the transition. Initially when they rolled out Memberships on Youtube it was 30k, then later on they modified the requirements to also point out that gaming channels are eligible at 1k. https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/7636690?hl=en …

@TeamYouTube this creator has over 1k subs. Can he have memberships?1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -
Thankfully, I have memberships already. I'm trying to bring to light that some of their support team is not fully knowledgable of their current requirements and is causing a lot of people to get frustrated when they see similar-sized channels get memberships.

(continued) However, when they inquire about it, they get little to no help because some support team members are still telling people that its 30k or nothing at all.
